Are you going through setbacks or adversities in your life’s pursuit? Have you recently lost your job, investments, or Savings? Are you dismayed and disappointed and don’t know what the next step “Fear not” Don’t be disappointed. Just remember that you are not in that problem alone
The greatest achievers in this world are often those with the greatest records of setbacks. What made them great was that they turned their adversities into opportunities and became winners.
Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motors, was sacked from the company he was working for when he advised the management to produce cars that would be affordable to the common man in America.
The Company wanted cars that would be exclusive to a few rich Americans. Henry lost the argument and was fired, but a few years later, the company that won the argument went bankrupt due to losses and poor sales. Henry Ford, however, pursued his dream and, with the help of a few friends, he started ‘Ford Motors, which later became a huge success in the USA.
Whatever your setback, learn to turn your lemon into lemonade. A man once bought a piece of land in the USA but, on visiting the site, discovered that the field was infested with rattlesnakes. He got discouraged and was at a loss as to what to do with the piece of land. He attempted selling it but failed, and this gave him an idea.
The idea is simple. The venom of rattlesnakes could be used for making anti-snake vaccines. He bought the idea and went on to develop it until he succeeded in the production of the vaccines. The rest is history as the man made millions of dollars from the venture.
Most of the time, we overestimate the size of our problem. Problems are not as big as they first appear to us. Problems have solutions and so we should not fear them. The best way to solve a problem is to face it head-on. If you must discover solutions to your problems, face them head-on. That way, the problem will cave in and give way. We should also always Remember that no problem is new. It has either happened to Someone you know or someone in history. What you need to do therefore is to enquire what solutions were proffered to solve such problems and apply similar solutions to your problems.
Another lesson we must learn is to know that every problem carries with it a seed of an equally great opportunity. If properly examined and harnessed, you will discover that there are benefits in every adversity.
The Transformative Power of Adversity and Self-Reflection
Adversities give us the chances of sober reflection, patience, perseverance, long-suffering, and character-building, all of which are required to make us reach our life’s goals and, above all, be our best selves
Dr Nelson Mandela of South Africa is today one of the world’s Iiving legends but, as you may have known, his fane and greatness came from a decade of battles against apartheid in his country. He was incarcerated in prison for 27 years but he rose from prison to become the first black president of his nation, South Africa.
Bill Gates deferred early education and was said to have been a school dropout. He did not see this as a setback but decided to make things happen with what he had, and today he is a world champion and one of the richest people on earth as he controls huge businesses and finances.
Defects Don’t Matter.
Whatever your defect, it should not serve as an excuse for you not to make it in life. We have mentioned the story of Helen Keller, who, after birth suddenly became blind, deaf, and dumb, but she was determined to succeed in life and went against all odds to make a huge success such that, at the time of her death, she had written over 27 books and described the world as a beautiful place to live in despite her numerous handicaps
As a Man thinks in his heart, so is he” If you think you are defeated, then you will be defeated. If you think you can win, then you will succeed. We are the products of our thoughts.
We should also know that problems have gestation periods. They always come and go and we as humans have been created with the capacity to overcome problems. We should not blame defects for our failures but rather be positive in both our thinking and our actions. If we continue to push we shall surely win

Apply Isaac’s Principle
What did Isaac do when the Philistines kept on blocking and filling the wells, which he dug He ignored them and kept on digging new wells, At a stage his enemies got tired and were ready to settle with him. He had overcome them with patience and persistence. Isaac went back to the wells that had been filled with earth and dug them and found water and became very wealthy
You too can apply Isaacs’s principle to your problems.
Ignore your failed attempts and move forward with new ideas and new business propositions until you succeed. You will be surprised that you can still visit the failed projects later and record breakthroughs in them. Always put up a positive attitude to problems facing you. Believe that every problem has a solution, don’t settle for less when you can do more.
There is no doubt in the fact that the whole world is passing through an economic recession. The effect is so penetrating, that all over the world millions of people have lost their jobs, thousands of factories have been closed down, many houses have been foreclosed due to mortgage defaults, and countless businesses have collapsed,
A lot of high-net-worth individuals have lost great amounts in the worth of their stocks and shares their value plummeted to an all-time low. The impact is universal and one can say that he has not had a feel of the devastating economic phenomenon. Life itself is full of challenges, but as long we don’t give up on trying the last key may be the one to open the door
